How to Connect Your Exchange Account Securely

Connecting your exchange account to Bitlax Smart is the first step in automating your crypto trading. This guide will show you exactly how to create, configure, and link your API keys safely.

🟢 Why Secure Connection Matters

Your API keys are digital credentials that allow Bitlax Smart to place trades on your behalf. They never give the platform permission to withdraw funds—only to execute orders. For maximum protection, we recommend creating API keys with limited permissions and storing them securely.

🟢 Step 1: Log Into Your Exchange

Log into the cryptocurrency exchange you want to connect. Bitlax Smart supports all major exchanges including:

  • Binance
  • Kraken
  • Coinbase Pro
  • Bybit

If you’re not sure whether your exchange is supported, visit Settings > Integrations in your Bitlax Smart dashboard.

🟢 Step 2: Create API Keys

On your exchange:

  1. Navigate to the API Management or API Keys section (the name may vary).
  2. Click Create New API Key.
  3. Name the key, for example:
    BitlaxSmart_Bot_Trading
  4. IMPORTANT:
    • Enable Read and Trade permissions.
    • Disable withdrawal permissions.
    • If available, restrict the key to specific IP addresses (Bitlax Smart provides an IP list in your dashboard).

âś… Security Tip:
If you are unsure about permissions, never enable withdrawals. Bitlax Smart will only need trading access.

🟢 Step 3: Copy Your Keys

After creating the keys, your exchange will display:

  • API Key (public)
  • Secret Key (private)

Copy and save them in a secure location (such as a password manager). You will not be able to view the secret key again after closing the page.

🟢 Step 4: Link API Keys to Bitlax Smart

  1. In your Bitlax Smart dashboard, go to Account > API Connections.
  2. Click Add New Connection.
  3. Select your exchange from the dropdown.
  4. Paste your API Key and Secret Key into the provided fields.
  5. If your exchange supports IP whitelisting, confirm you have set it up correctly.
  6. Click Connect.

After a few seconds, you should see a confirmation that your account is linked.

🟢 Step 5: Test the Connection

To ensure everything works properly:

  • Check the Connection Status (it should show “Connected”).
  • Verify your balances are visible (Bitlax Smart only reads them).
  • Confirm that no trades are executed until you activate a bot.

🟢 Step 6: Review and Manage Your API Keys

Under API Connections, you can:

  • View all connected exchanges.
  • Disable or delete keys at any time.
  • Monitor the last activity date for security.

If you change permissions on the exchange side, remember to update or re-link the keys.
